Leopard print Adidas Sambas have been all the rave, both with and without Wales Bonner’s involvement, and Nike isn’t about to let its biggest rival have all the fun.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Leopard” will release this summer as a literal wild affair. Not only does its namesake print dress the upper but it does so with the furry texture of pony hair (although it’s not yet clear precisely what material has been used). What is certain, however, is that no big cats have been harmed to bring the animal print to your feet.

Creamy white leather is used for the Swoosh and mustache, while an off-white midsole sits above an always welcomed gum outsole. Brown branding is applied to the tongue, mustache and insole.

Nike is no stranger to animal print, having pioneered its usage in athletic sneakers. Tinker Hatfield first made waves with the use of an ostrich print on the Air Safari in 1987. Now known simply as the “Safari” print, the look has appeared throughout numerous other Nike sneakers, including Atmos’ legendary Air Max 1 “Safari” from 2022 and an entire collection of sneakers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A year after codifying the “Safari” look, Hatfield also brought an elephant print to the Air Jordan 3 to create another signature for the Swoosh umbrella.

And even though it’s never truly “out,” leopard print was considered fully “in” for the broader worlds of both footwear and fashion in 2025.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Leopard” doesn’t yet have a firm release date but is expected to release at some point during the summer. Pricing is set at $140, and sizing will be exclusive to women.
