Just one day removed from Travis Scott’s surprise appearance at WWE’s WrestleMania 41 event, the professional wrestling promotion’s new Undisputed Champion, John Cena, appeared on “WWE Monday Night Raw” in an upcoming Cactus Jack Jordan Brand sneaker.
Cena’s sneaker of choice Monday was the same style worn by Travis Scott on Sunday, the Jordan CJ1 T-Rexx in a “Bright Cactus” colorway. The unreleased sneaker has been a focus of recent Travis Scott promotion; the artist wore the look in Coachella teasers before lacing it up again during his involvement in Sunday’s WrestleMania 41 Night 2 main event.
The Jordan CJ1 T-Rexx is considered Travis Scott’s first signature sneaker with Jordan Brand. The soon-to-be-released “Bright Cactus” pair features a bright green canvas base with off-white Sail leather uppers. The shoe is adorned with various Cactus Jack branding marks including the label’s smiley face logo stitched on the heel, wear-away “Jack” logos on the outsole, reverse Swoosh logos and embroidery on the adjustable forefoot support strap.
Although Cena didn’t compete Monday, his decision to wear the new Travis Scott sneaker signals a further allegiance between the two in WWE’s storylines. There’s been speculation that Travis Scott will eventually be involved in a wrestling match, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
Originally named the Jordan Jumpman Jack, the model was renamed the CJ1 T-Rexx shortly after its retail debut. Thus far, it has been released in three colorways: “Sail,” “University Red,” and “Dark Mocha.”
This upcoming Jordan CJ1 T-Rexx has a full colorway of “Muslin/Black/Bright Cactus” but its nickname has been shortened to “Bright Cactus.” It’s expected to be released April 30 with adult sizes (FZ8117-102) retailing for $200. The sneaker will also be available in preschool (FJ2851-102, $90) and toddler (FJ2852-102, $75) sizes. Launches are expected from travisscott.com, SNKRS and select Jordan Brand stockists.
