J Balvin’s Air Jordan 3 ‘Medellín Sunset’ Is Confirmed for a September Release
After much anticipation and many appearances on the feet of the man himself, the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Medellín Sunset” finally appears ready for a September release. Official images for the sneaker have surfaced, tipping off that the drop is indeed imminent.
The Colombian superstar’s Air Jordan 3 continues a smooth sequence following his Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 2 from 2020 and 2022, respectively. It allows continues a trend of dynamic prints, although the purple-to-yellow gradient being reserved for the heel stabilizer and counter and a portion of the midsole underneath make this the most muted of the collaborations thus far. As the name suggests, the colorful effect takes inspiration from the sunsets of J Balvin‘s hometown.
The rest of the sneaker, including the signature elephant print panels, makes use of off-whites and creams. Yellow eyelets match the trim on select leather panels, as well as the tongue’s lining and Jumpman logo. The heel counter actually utilizes a translucent rubber with the gradient underneath and mismatched logos across the left and right sneakers. The right features Balvin’s smiley face symbol with lightning eyes. On the left, the usual Nike Air logo has the “i” in “Air” replaced with one of the same lightning bolts. A keychain features the smiley will be included with the sneakers, which will also come in a box created just for the occasion.

The J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Medellín Sunset” will release Sept. 23 through the SNKRS app and select retailers for $250.
