Here’s Your First Official Look at Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 4 ‘White Cement’ Returning in May
Late last summer, reports first surfaced indicating the return of the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” to end a nine-year hiatus. And now as we get closer to the spring release, the first official look at the retro sneaker has been revealed through retailer images.
The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” is one of only four original colorways for the model released in 1989. Of those four, only three were actually worn on the court by Michael Jordan, as the “Military Blue” (or “Industrial Blue”) pair that was most recently reissued last year didn’t conform to NBA uniform regulations at the time.
As has been the trend in recent years, Jordan Brand is making it a priority to replicate the precise proportions of the shoe’s form from its inaugural run. Now that images of the shoe are here via Size?, the most dedicated of Air Jordan fanatics will pore of the details to see just how faithfully the execution has been done. At first glance, it’s clear that the tongue looks more like the 1989 sneaker than the last time the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” was reissued, or “retroed,” during NBA All-Star weekend in 2016.

The “Cement” in “White Cement” comes from the speckled grey TPU used portions of the midsole, as well as the mustache and the model’s signature wings that host the upper most eyestays. White claims the most territory, including the leather upepr and mesh windows, while a dash of “Fire Red” arrives through the tongue’s Jumpman logo. Black is then used for a portion of the sole unit, as well as the eyestays, tongue lining and heel “Nike Air” mark.
Prior to 2016, the “White Cement” 4s had only rereleased in 1999 and 2012.
The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” will release May 24, a week later than previously reported, through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Full family sizing will be made available, with men’s priced at $225.
