It’s been several months since reports of a “Pure Money” Air Jordan 3 Retro surfaced in October and now, an early look at what the 2025 version is expected to look like has appeared.
For the first time ever, the Air Jordan 3 Retro “Pure Money” will receive a rerelease. The stark white colorway was originally released in 2007 and carried over a theme first seen on the Air Jordan 4 in 2006. The nearly all-white colorway features light gray and silver accents but is for the most part an entirely colorless look. Even the shoe’s signature elephant print overlays are left devoid of coloring, relying solely on their texture to stand out.
The first “Pure Money” Air Jordan 3 Retro release came in May of ’07 and was followed by its all-black “Black Cat” counterpart in June ’07. Like the “Pure Money” pair, the “Black Cat” style was also treated to a reissue earlier this year.
The all-leather “Pure Money” Air Jordan 3 Retro is sparse on details, but a hidden feature from the original ’07 pair has been kept intact. Behind the heel tab lies silver embroidery reading “Pure $.” In an interesting twist, the ’25 version of the “Black Cat” Air Jordan 3 did not include its counterpart “Black Cat” text. One commonality between the two makeups is their shoelaces, which are printed with the model’s elephant print pattern.
While this is the first-ever reissue for the “Pure Money”-branded version of the sneaker, a similar “Silver Anniversary” style was released in 2010.
Surprisingly, news of a ’25 reissue did little to impact the aftermarket value of the original “Pure Money” Air Jordan 3. In fact, StockX sales history shows that the price has actually increased since the news first broke. Since October, five of the style’s seven sales have been over $450.
Although these latest batch of images come from a questionable source, they offer the best look yet at what the upcoming rerelease should look like. As of publishing, the ’25 iteration is expected to arrive this summer on July 5 for a retail price of $200. The SKU for the upcoming release is CT8532-111 and its full colorway is “White/Metallic Silver/White.”
