A new Air Jordan slowly rolling out combines not only two neighboring models but also colorways for the two teams Michael Jordan is most associated.
The Air Jordan 2/3 “UNC to Chi” is a mashup of the Air Jordan 2 and Air Jordan 3 that also combines the colors of the University of North Carolina Tarheels and the Chicago Bulls. Construction for the hybrid sneaker, which debuted in 2024, is relatively simple, as the upper of an Air Jordan 2 sits above the sole unit of its successor.
A white pebbled leather upper serves as the middle ground between two teams, and the Bulls take greater territory with a black, white and red sole unit. The tongue then gets a red Wings logo to go along with a black sockliner and laces, while UNC is represented through the powder blue mustache.
Jordan Brand first executed the “UNC to Chi” theme on an Air Jordan 1 High in 2020, followed by both an Air Jordan 1 Low and Air Jordan 2 Low in 2023. Both of the AJ1s featured black uppers with a red vamp and blue heel paneling and Swoosh, while the AJ2 Low was almost entirely white with only sparse hits of color including the same blue mustache.
The Air Jordan 2/3 “UNC to Chi” has already begun to release through some boutiques and will likely hit Nike’s website soon. Pricing for the sneaker is set at $160.
