Tobe Nwigwe is leaning into his past life as a college football for his debut Reebok collection.Â
The Nigerian-American rapper’s multi-season collection is called “Reebok x Chukwu,” which refers to the supreme being of the Igbo ethnic group to which he claims his ancestry.
Leading the first-season is the Chukwu OTU, a reimagined version of the Preseason Turf Trainer that Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith called his signature shoe in 1994. A transformed upper looks like it’s borrowed the most hypnotizing aspects of the Shaqnosis, and its “mint green” colorway (one of two) continues Nwigwe’s love for the color and is matched by some of the accompanying apparel.Â
Look for the Reebok x Chukwu OTU ($200) and other items to release February 21 through Reebok’s website and select third-party retailers.
