Serena Williams‘ first time at the Met Gala was over 20 years ago. While she attended the event starting in 2004, there were some years that she skipped the event. Then in 2017 she returned with her then fiancé Alexis Ohanian and has since become a somewhat consistent guest at the event. The athlete has taken some risks with her style for the event, even wearing a pair of Off-White sneakers one year, but has grasped fans’ attention as soon as she steps out on the red carpet year after year.
