Edgardo Osorio and Poppy Delevingne were on hand at Lane Crawford‘s IFC store in Hong Friday evening to toast their new collection with consumers.
The capsule, which has generated buzz since it launched in December, will be carried in six styles at Lane Crawford locations, alongside Aquazzura’s main resort and spring collections.
The collection riffs on free-spirited ’70s details. Think tall boots and platforms with braided strapping, tasseling touches and star or moon motifs spiked with turquoise stones. Luggage hues and metallic finishes prevail.
Osorio, who was named FN’s Designer of the Year at the 2015 FN Achievement Awards, is known for creating shoes inspired by a worldly group of women who influence his work — from Olivia Palermo and Veronika Heilbrunner to Eugenie Niarchos.
Of his partnership with Delevingne, he said: “I’ve always admired Poppy, and I love her style: a very English mix of kooky and chic. We wanted to capture the tone of her wedding in Morocco — mystical and romantic, but interpreted in a way that felt charming and English. I met her and instantly adored her. She was wearing Aquazzura shoes, so it seemed like a good match.”
