Salma Hayek Shines in Metallic Aquazzura Heels at Her Brother Sami Hayek’s Art Reception

Salma Hayek stepped out in a chrome ensemble when she showed support during the opening reception for her brother, designer Sami Hayek’s show: “Frequency” at Christie’s in Los Angeles on Thursday.
While at the reception, the actress, usually dressed by stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray, wore a pair of silvery platform heels by Aquazzura.
Metallic silver has been the color trend of 2023 and may even be as popular in the future 2024 season. The chrome style has permeated throughout the fashion industry, appearing in shows during this year’s New York Fashion Week from brands like Simone Rocha, Armani and Isabel Marant.
During the art reception, Salma sported a metallic silver pencil skirt, balancing the eye-catching garment with a black short-sleeve top accentuated with a rhinestone collar. The Marvel actress, who starred in the film franchise’s movie “Eternals,” continued the metallic silver theme with her accessories, styling the look with a chrome shoulder bag.

The chrome skirt was reminiscent of luxury brand Gucci’s silver chrome knee-length skirt with the brand’s classic horse bit. The actress has close ties with the luxury brand and has worn its designs on several occasions. Most notably, at the 2023 Met Gala, in which the theme was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty,” during the event Salma paid tribute to the late designer by wearing a strapless red leather corset dress with pearl straps sleeves and a large skirt adorned with ruffles of tulle. For her footwear for the look, the actress accessorized with her usual 6-inch heels.
Salma, who is 5-foot-2, is known for wearing towering heels during red-carpet events. In September, while attending the premiere of her latest movie, “El Sabor de la Navidad,” during the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, the actress wore black platform sandals.
The 57-year-old brought along her French billionaire husband and chief executive officer of Kering, François-Henri Pinault, who wore a classic black pinstriped suit with black loafers.
This isn’t the first time the actress stepped out in a disco-esque ensemble; Salma donned a metallic gold power suit at the World Monuments Fund’s 34th annual Hadrian Gala in late October. Salma wore a suit designed by the clothing brand Brioni to celebrate her mother-in-law, Maryvonne Pinault, on receiving the prestigious Hadrian Award.
Other notable celebrities who attended the “Frequency” event with appearances from Demi Moore and actress Sofia Vergara. According to the auction house, Sami’s art exhibit explores the relationship between materials and patterns. Patrons interested in attending the show can view the art pieces starting Nov. 3 to Dec. 7.
