Paige Bueckers arrived at the 2025 WNBA Draft Orange Carpet at The Shed on April 14 in New York City dressed like the No. 1 pick she is expected to be. The UConn Huskies guard is perfecting her cool It Girl style, and wore an all-black ensemble, which included a relaxed shimmering suit at the center.
Bueckers, whose fresh off of her UConn team winning the 2025 NCAA national championship, put on a three-piece suit, which included a relaxed blazer, flared trousers and a form-fitting vest. The basketball star’s suit appeared to be charcoal, with hints of brown, and carried a large coin purse-style handbag, likely made by Coach, who sponsored the carpet.
Unlike most of the players entering the draft, Bueckers left the high heels at home and instead opted for a chunky pair of platform loafers. The leather shoes featured a round toe with an exaggerated platform and a lug sole, similar to Coach’s Leah Platform Loafer. She balanced her business-inspired ensemble with a more glamorous look with her hair and makeup. She wore her hair in loose beach waves and wore a dark, smokey eye.
The WNBA’s X account posted a video of Bueckers at the event and captioned it, “Paige Bueckers has entered the chat,” #WNBADraft Orange Carpet presented by @Coach,” which hundreds of fans quickly responded to. One wrote: “Paige looks like an adult here. Finally leaning into a more mature look.” Another added: “Didn’t even recognize her!”
Once inside the venue, she changed into a more polished suit with embellishments around the lapel and along the side of her trousers.
The 2025 WNBA Draft is taking place on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET and the TV broadcast will air on ESPN.
