Donald Trump spoke about first lady Melania Trump‘s footwear choice while addressing the crowd on Monday during his second inauguration.
The political figure referred to Melania’s Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in black suede, saying, “Melania’s feet are killing her.” The style is a go-to for the Slovenian model. The stiletto heel height is nothing to sneeze at, standing at around 4 inches.
The Manolo Blahnik BB silhouette comes in a range of heel heights and colorways. The former model complemented her designer footwear with a black coat by New York designer Adam Lippes. Melania completed the look with black leather gloves, aptly warming her up during the frigid morning in the nation’s capital.
Back in 2017, Melania also chose Blahnik for inauguration day, pairing light blue suede pumps with a coordinating light blue Ralph Lauren dress. The look was said to evoke Jackie Kennedy given the retro-inspired nature of her designer garment and the shade of blue chosen.

During the inaugural ball back in 2017, Melania wore taupe-colored suede pumps, paired with a Hervé Pierre gown. Pierre currently works as Melania’s stylist.
The event is the second inauguration of Trump as U.S. president, marking the commencement of his final non-consecutive term as U.S. president. Now that Donald is scheduled to return to the White House, there is much talk about how his proposed tariffs will affect the footwear industry and consumers.
