Marsai Martin is back on the scene. The actress is promoting her new film “G20,” starring Viola Davis. The Amazon Prime project releases on April 10.
After attending the world premiere of the film in Los Angeles last week, she wore an off-the-shoulder set from Jacquemus. The set included wide leg culottes. She was styled by the duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald.
For shoes, Martin with a red carpet staple heel. She wore the Christian Louboutin So Kate pump in black suede. The shoes include a low-cut rounded vamp. The vamp is cut so low that it exposes Martin’s toe cleavage. The shoe’s toe box is pointed.
The shoe’s heel is 4.7 inches. As a single-sole style, the shoe includes a steep pitch. This means that Louboutin’s shoe can be uncomfortable for some. People like Tracee Ellis Ross, a noted fan of the So Kate, have referred to it as a “torture device.” The sole of the shoe is red.
The So Kate is the most famous of Louboutin pump shoes with a marquee year last year. In 2004, Louboutin introduced its first iconic pump, the Pigalle, named after a neighborhood in Paris. When Kate Moss became a major fan, Louboutin tweaked the design and issued a new pump named in her honor: the Kate. That was 2012. A year later, the label offered a taller version named the So Kate.
Earlier this year, Louboutin began selling its latest pump. That style, named the Miss Z, has been worn by Ciara, Nicole Kidman and many others. But, it clearly hasn’t kicked the So Kate out of the closets of stars. In addition to Martin, Chase Sui Wonders also wore the shoes recently.
Martin also wore Louboutin heels to the premiere. She wore the company’s Sandaloo platforms which include an open toe. Those uppers were made of patent leather.
