La La Anthony Delivers Dramatic Duality in Hybrid Pantsuit Dress and Jimmy Choo ‘Love’ Pumps for 2025 Met Gala
La La Anthony leaned into the 2025 Met Gala theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” with a creative hybrid ensemble set off by a pair of pointed-toe Jimmy Choo pumps.
Showcasing a design by Atelier Biser, Anthony embraced sartorial duality with a layered look featuring a black pantsuit underneath half of a dramatic off-white gown. The pantsuit was a glossy satiny material with a fitted bodice and straight-leg pants; the dress silhouette featured layers of lightweight fabric forming a voluminous A-line ballgown and an exaggerated ruffled top. Anthony’s jewelry came from Lorraine Schwartz.
Anthony completed her two-toned ensemble with Jimmy Choo’s Love pump. She appeared to have donned a sleek black satin version of the silhouette, which features a traditional pump design with a low-cut vamp, stiletto heel and statement-making pointed toe.

The 2025 Met Gala is unfolding on May 5, the first Monday in May, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City with the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Celebrity co-chairs include Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky and Lewis Hamilton. This year, the philanthropic event raised $71 million for the Costume Institute, a record-breaking number for the Met Gala.
