Kim Kardashian made a dramatic statement on the red carpet at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2023 in New York City on Monday night. She was chosen to present the CFDA Fashion Icon Award to Serena Williams.
The Skims mogul stepped out in a black leather Chrome Hearts gown paired with towering platform heels.
Her daring dress was embossed throughout with the luxury brand’s signature cross emblem and featured a high neck and a sultry open back with a subtle slit. A tasseled hemline tassels gave way to the bold platform sandals she wore. The style boasted a thick clear PVC strap across the vamp and chunky black platform soles balanced out by sky-high heels that measured over 6 inches tall.
The “Kardashians” reality star kept her pedicure clean and clear for the occasion. She completed her glamorous look with a smokey eye, a neutral lip and a chic updo.
This isn’t the first time Kardashian has worn Chrome Hearts, an exclusive Hollywood-based brand founded by Richard Stark in the late 1980s. The family-owned label started making clothes, jewelry and accessories for bikers and rock stars. Cher, Drake, Dua Lipa, Emily Ratajkowski and Rihanna are just some of the company’s celebrity fans.
The TV personality is no stranger to wearing clear shoes, either. She’s been seen in a variety of transparent heels, including mules and pointed wedges by Yeezy, over the years.
The CFDA Awards honor American designers and brands of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. This year, the organization’s annual event will be held in partnership with Amazon Fashion in New York City. Anne Hathaway will serve as host of the star-studded occasion.
