Katie Holmes attended the 2024 CFDA Awards on Oct. 28 in New York City wearing a pink and red color-blocked dress from Carolina Herrera with glossy red slingback pumps from Gianvito Rossi.
Holmes’ dress featured a long sleeve light pink top with a high neckline; beneath the bust, the piece transitioned to a bright red skirt, with triangular cutouts between top and bottom providing the ensemble with a bit of flair. A statement black bow affixed to the back picked up Holmes’ black clutch. The actress wore her hair back and matched the dress to a pair of dangling jewel earrings.
A pair of patent leather slingback pumps in a bold shade of red complemented the dress. Wearing the Ascent style from Gianvito Rossi, Holmes’ shoes featured a sharply pointed toe and a slender heel of modest height; the majority of the foot was exposed by the minimalist upper and slender straps. The ankle strap offered a sense of security in addition to an aesthetic variation on the traditional pump, which usually covers the heel. The Ascent style, offered in a range of colors, retails for $995 from the Italian company.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America are celebrating the winners and honorees of the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards at an intimate ceremony at The Museum of Natural History in New York City on Oct. 28. The awards will be presided over by CFDA chairman Thom Browne and CEO Steven Kolb, and will be hosted by Cynthia Erivo.
This year’s Fashion Icon Award will go to Erykah Badu and the presenters list includes names like Andre3000, Anna Wintour, Amy Griffin, Blake Lively, Brandon Maxwell, Charles Melton, Da’Vine Joy, Randolph, Donna Karan, Jenny Freshwater, Marc Jacobs, Molly Gordon, Molly Ringwald, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton and more.
