Kamala Harris Goes Classic in Black Patent Leather Pumps and LaQuan Smith Dress at Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Kamala Harris took the stage at The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 53rd Annual Legislative Conference Phoenix Awards Dinner held in Washington D.C. yesterday. President Joe Biden was also in attendance and was given the CBC Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sticking to the classics, Harris popped on a pair of glossy black pumps. The shoe pick featured shiny patent black leather uppers that transitioned into sharp pointed toes and 2 to 3-inch stiletto heels that offered the political figure a boost in height. The footwear’s glossy finish made for a welcomed touch, mirroring the high-shine look of her outfit for the dinner.
When opting for black pumps, the politician gravitates toward mainly patent leather styles hailing from Manolo Blahnik. Harris has been spotted in many of the designer brand’s offerings including their “Butterflymo” cut-out, “Thymeclo Samba” Mary Jane and “Folka” pumps.

If she’s in the mood for something featuring a bit more texture, Harris will reach for suede black pumps from top brands like Prada or Gucci. It’s not hard to see why the attorney is a fan of black pumps. Patent leather or suede, the style is timeless, worn and re-worn for decades, given its endless versatility.
In a similarly dressy vein, Harris was outfitted in a long-sleeve gown from LaQuan Smith crafted of a glittering black fabric featuring flecks of silver and deep blue. Beyond its fabric composition, the garment included an asymmetric neckline that created dimension. As for accessories, the vice president kept it simple with a few gold rings.
Harris’ style often features power suits from top brands like Carolina Herrera and Dolce and Gabbana. When it comes to shoes, the Vice President regularly wears a range of styles outside of her staple pointed-toe pumps. She often opts for pairs of Converse All-Star sneakers, as well as Prada booties, Timberland boots and more.
