Julia Roberts has a new jewel in her crown: the actress received the Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) at the French Ministry of Culture in Paris on Feb. 28, dressed up in a Stella McCartney suit and Roger Vivier pumps for the special occasion.
Roberts modeled a distinctive suit look hailing from Stella McCartney. The pale gray outfit included cropped barrel leg trousers and a sophisticated jacket with no visible buttons in front; the medal denoting her achievement was pinned to the wide peak lapel of her jacket by France’s Prime Minister of Culture Rachida Dati. Roberts’ white collared dress shirt was buttoned to the top, emphasizing the formality of her ensemble.
For her shoes, Roberts opted for a pair of gray Roger Vivier pumps, a fitting choice as they not only created a unified color scheme but aligned with the occasion since the luxury fashion house is based in Paris. The “Pretty Woman” star looked to be sporting a gray patent leather version of the brand’s Viv’ In The City Pumps, which feature the recognizable buckle associated with the brand on the vamp. The square, eye-catching adornment is also gray, creating a monochrome footwear aesthetic. A lacquered stiletto heel with a sculpted design lifts up the look. First Lady Melania Trump recently wore a pair.
Roger Vivier recently revealed its Viv’ on the Run shoe, a sneaker which actually draws inspiration in part from Julia Roberts in the 1999 film “Runaway Bride.” The sneaker is influenced by the late 1990s and early 2000s in addition to prominent names of that time period, with Princess Diana and John F. Kennedy Jr. also on the list of muses.
Whether Roger Vivier or another brand, Roberts is sure to display her fashion prowess when she steps out for an event. The “Ticket to Paradise” actress attended Gucci’s spring 2024 show in September 2023, for example, wearing a formal gray suit look including shorts with a pair of black slingback pumps.
