Idina Menzel joined a bevy of celebrities at the Entertainment Community Fund Gala in New York City on Monday.
The Broadway legend wore a light blue velvet three-piece suit courtesy of Temperley London for the star-studded occasion. Menzel donned the popular British brand’s Clove blazer, waistcoat, and matching trousers in “Ice blue.”
The Clove jacket on its own retails for $1,005, while the waist coat costs $525. Each piece of the chic tailored set boasts silver buttons stamped with the brand’s initials and comes in other vibrant colorways, including coral, scarlet, chartreuse and hot pink.
The pants featured a slightly flared hem that skimmed the tops of her platform pumps finished in a contrasting burgundy satin. The actress opted for a style with a rounded closed toe, thick platform soles and sturdy block heels. She appeared to be wearing the Malone Souliers Ilenia satin-finished platform pump.
In the past, the “Wicked” alum has been known to wear platform boots, classic pointed pumps, strappy sandals, and other bold styles from brands like Casadei, Christian Louboutin, Brian Atwood and Manolo Blahnik. Menzel wore another suit, this time in black by women’s workwear brand Argent, paired with leopard-print pumps at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations discussing “Redwood The Musical” last week. Menzel also made an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” yesterday, where she showed off a glamorous black dress to discuss her career and new musical “Redwood” with guest host Andy Cohen.
The “Frozen” star often works with stylist Tara Swennen, whose other celebrity clients include Kristen Stewart, Ali Wong, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and more. Swennen appeared alongside Stewart on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Power Stylists issue in 2022.
The Tony-winning stage star, who’s been nicknamed the “Queen of Broadway,” conceived “Redwood” with director Tina Landau. The musical follows Jesse (Menzel), who turns to the famous Redwood forests in Northern California to find healing after a “life-altering” event. Menzel is also known for starring in “Rent,” “If/Then,” and “Aida.” She’s also appeared in the musical fantasy film “Enchanted,” “Glee,” and Shonda Rhimes’ “Private Practice.” Notably, her song “Let It Go” from “Frozen” won best original song at the Academy Awards in 2014.
