Eiza González channeled a touch of sci-fi in a futuristic moto vest and sharp Magda Butrym pointed-toe boots at the premiere of her latest film “Ash” at SXSW on Tuesday.
The Mexican actor’s Italian-made designer shoes featured a sharp pointed-toe and a 4.5-inch stiletto heel. They hit at calf-height, have a zipper up the back of the boot and are made of smooth black leather.
She paired the boots with a fitted black leather moto vest with chic spacey-shoulders that extended several inches out, a look from Gabriela Hearst’s SS25 RTW collection. She completed the look with a white crinkly midi skirt, a black leather belt, a sleek ponytail and dark, pointy nails.
Pointed-toe shoes have returned to fashion in recent years after their heyday in the ’80s and ’90s. Today, pointed-toes can be found on many shoe silhouettes, from boots of all heights, to sling-backs, pumps, even open-toed stiletto sandals.
The most-classic style is a pointed-toe stiletto pump, with Christian Louboutin’s So Kate pumps a bona-fide red carpet staple. Pointed-toe boots, ranging from ankle boots to thigh-highs, are often paired with a stiletto heel of varying height, although they can also be found atop trendy block heels. Prada, Larroudé, Christian Louboutin, Paris Texas, Saint Laurent, Jimmy Choo and Balenciaga all make a variety of pointed-toe boots and shoes.
González’s style is feminine, chic and playful with a touch of edginess. She’s a fan of strappy stiletto sandals and pointed-toe shoes that color-coordinate with her outfit, especially pointed-toe pumps. For example, at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, she paired a flowy red gown with tall strappy red stilettos, while in New York early this month, she matched a tan blazer with a pair of tan So Kate pumps.
“Ash” is a sci-fi psychological thriller starring Gonzalez as an astronaut abandoned in space after her crew was murdered. Left-field electronic musician Flying Lotus makes his feature film directorial debut with the horror film, which he also scored and acted in. Aaron Paul, Iko Uwais, Kate Elliott and Beulah Koale also star in the film, which will be released in theaters on March 21. The cast and crew presented “Ash” at SXSW’s prestigious film festival on Tuesday.
Magda Butrym x H&M brings the Polish designer’s romantic clothes to the masses on April 24, featuring a plethora of roses across dresses, tops, jewelry and a pair of mules.
