Doechii embrace a 90s hip-hop style on Sunday. The rapper was walking around New York City ahead of the much-anticipated Met Gala. Doechii is on the hosting committee for this year’s Met Gala, which marks the opening of the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibit.” She is expected to attend the event, likely dressed in Louis Vuitton. The theme of the red carpet is “Tailored For You.”
On Sunday, the Grammy performer was wearing a multi colored suede jacket of brown, beige and green. The jacket hung open, revealing a sheer bra She paired it with Tanner Fletcher Winnie stripe-taffeta boxer shorts with large, exposed pockets. Working with stylist Sam Woolf, she also wore an oversized plaid newsboy cap and massive gold jewelry, including a hair pick charm.
For shoes, Doechii wore a pair of Chloe Gosselin Cate pumps. She chose the shoes in two different colorways: one was a solid blue and the other was a striped orange. The shoe is largely a classic stiletto pump with an additional, thick strap and buckle across the front, reminiscent of Mary Jane styles. It is a pointed toe silhouette.
“I always loved my two cate pumps in striped orange fabric and blue satin together but never thought of putting one of each!” Gosselin wrote to Instagram of the look. “Well they did it!”
This isn’t the first time Doechii has worn Gosselin — it is the third. Previously, she has worn the company’s Lilly pumps. In Fall 2018, the brand released a line with styles inspired by and named after feminists. This pump appears to be from that collection.
Doechii loves a fun shoe. In a recent editorial, she wore a pair of furry Christian Louboutin heels featuring a claw as a heel. In addition, she’s worn Maison Margiela’s Bourgeoise Spectator, a Tabi style that appears faded and that has multiple cut outs. She chose those to accept a GLAAD Media Award in March.
