Cynthia Erivo is back in her musical performer era. After being in full on “Wicked” promotion for a year, Erivo is now preparing for the release of her next musical album “I Forgive You.” To promote it, she made an appearance at Coachella on Saturday where she took to the stage with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She performed her new song “Brick by Brick.”
For the appearance, Erivo was styled by Jason Bolden. She wore a lace and silk dress from Zimmerman. It featured a high neck and long, sweeping sleeves. The silhouette included a short front and trailing back. The design hailed from the brand’s fall 2025 collection.
For footwear, Erivo wore a pair of thigh-high Christian Louboutin boots. The style is called the Louboutin Monicarina Veau Velour boot. The upper is made entirely of black suede. The neck of the boot includes stretch to conform to the shape of the leg. The shoe also has an almond toe.
The boot sits on a tall stiletto heel in addition to a chunky platform. The platform is likely about 2.5 inches. This pumps up the height of the heel which is likely about 6.25 inches. The heel is a thin stiletto. The sole is red. Louboutin has been using red soles since at least 1992. They were originally inspired by red nail polish worn by secretaries.
Erivo is a massive fan of platform styles. In fact, she wore a pair of Pleaser platform boots for the album cover for “I Forgive You.” Even prior to that release, she’s been wearing the Christian Louboutin Cassia Alta. That is a ballet-inspired heel with a square toe and thick platform. She wore it not only to the 2025 Academy Awards Nominees Dinner but also to perform at the Grammy Awards.
The actress has worn platform leather boot styles from Casadei before. In fact, she started this month off in a pair named the Flora from the company. In December, she had worn a black thigh-high version for a screening of “Wicked.”
Erivo also has a penchant for Louboutin in general. In addition to the Cassia Alta styles as well as the Monicarina, she’s worn green ankle boots and various pump styles from the label. At the GLAAD Media Awards last month, she wore a pair of mesh, crystal-embellished pumps.
