Chappell Roan Channels the Victorian Era in Delicate John Fluevog Lace-Up Boots at Grammy Awards 2025

Chappell Roan graced the red carpet in Victorian style at the 2025 Grammys held tonight in Los Angeles. Roan has been nominated for a slew of awards including “Record of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Best New Artist,” “Best Pop Solo Performance” and “Best Pop Vocal Album.”
The “Picture You” songstress slipped into a pair of custom John Fluevog boots for the special occasion. The footwear pick included black suede uppers accompanied by bright yellow leather capped toes in a square shape.
Aqua trim gave way to a delicate lace-up construction and short stacked block heels that offered Roan a subtle boost. Leather straps threaded through buckle closures sat across the tops of the singer’s feet, contrasting the dainty composition with something with a little more edge.

Similar footwear styles were often worn by women of the Victorian and Edwardian periods which took place between the 1850s, 1900, and 1910 respectively. The shoes common for the time were less flashy than Roan’s, often made of simple black or chocolate brown leather and featured sharp pointed toes and sturdy lacing.
Partnered with her unique footwear, the “Red Wine Supernova” singer donned an intricate gown worthy of a candle-lit ball. The garment, hailing from Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring 2003 couture collection, depicted vignettes of formally dressed women crafted of tulle in shades of blue, yellow, white and teal. Tulle trim offered the garment volume. Campy faux grapes were pinned to Roan’s hip.
The 67th annual Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles hosted by comedian Trevor Noah. The show will air at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+.
