Angela Bassett was standing tall as the president during a For Your Consideration screening of the Netflix series “Zero Day” on Saturday in New York. The actress stars as the lead of the project, President Evelyn Mitchell, who seeks help from former president George Mullen, played by Robert De Niro.
For the event, Bassett wore a blue pinstripe suit. The three-piece number featured a high-waisted trouser, vest and an oversized double-breasted jacket. The buttons of the jacket are also made of the same fabric of the suit. To accessorize she wore large silver earrings and a silver ring.
For shoes, Bassett chose a pair of Christian Louboutin Movida Sabina sandals. The shoe is a strappy style with an open-toe design. The leather upper is composed of one thick strap across the toes as well as another slingback-style strap and an ankle strap. A thick buckle on the ankle strap provides additional security.
The heel is a platform style. The thick platform is 1.75 inches while a chunky block heel measures 5 inches. The usage of a platform decreases the pitch of the shoe, allowing for additional height while being relatively comfortable. It also includes the Louboutin trademark red sole, a design attribute the brand has utilized since its founding back in the early 1990s.
MyTheresa is selling the Christian Louboutin Modiva Sabina sandal for $1,095.
Bassett enjoys a platform. When she attended the world premiere of “Zero Day,” she chose a pair of satin Dolce & Gabbana platform pumps. Matched with a lacy dress and a leopard-print coat, the looked was styled by Jennifer Austin. Prior to that, she wore a pair of black peep-toe platform heels to the Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS in 2023.
Louboutin is a staple for celebrities. From classic styles like pumps via the company’s Pigalle, Kate, So Kate and Miss Z to sandals like the Modiva Sabina, Sandaloo and Loubi Queen, the company has it all. From behind and beneath, the shoes are easily identified by their red sole. Louboutin has protected its right to use contrasting red soles — where the red sole is a different color than the upper of the shoe — in court.
