L.K. Bennett has tapped London-based luxury footwear label Bionda Castana to collaborate with on a limited-edition spring/summer 2016 collection, launching globally in February.
Bionda Castana’s Natalia Barbieri and Jennifer Portman are the first designers to team up with the British accessible-luxury brand, which has previously partnered with fashion editor and consultant Caroline Issa and model Laura Bailey, among others.
“We feel honored to be supported by such an iconic fellow British brand. We found that the Bionda Castana and L.K. Bennett women had a natural synergy, which made for an exciting collection,” said Bionda Castana co-founder Natalia Barbieri.
The exclusive capsule collection features six styles, each named after an inspiring woman, including flats, sandals, pumps and block heels that bring together the playful details Bionda Castana is known for with L.K. Bennett’s practical designs.
Prices range from $418 to $532 and will be sold online and in L.K. Bennett stores across the U.S., as well as the U.K., France and Spain.
“Natalia and Jennifer have brought their coveted aesthetic and, together with our in-house design team, have created something unique for everyday luxury,” said L.K. Bennett CEO Robert Bensoussan.
While it emphasizes buzzy collaborations, L.K. Bennett is also continuing its march into America this year. The brand opened a high-profile store on Madison Avenue recently, its third New York location.
Bionda Castana also is wrapping up its own a year of expansion. The designers opened their first London flagship in June and plan to move to a larger space next year.
In addition, they launched an e-commerce site. “Having retail has enabled us to increase our visibility and serve our clients personally,” Barbieri said.
On the wholesale front, the designers launched at Harrods and Selfridges this year. In 2016, they plan to open shop-in-shops each quarter with key wholesale partners, who have yet to be revealed.
