Earth Day is here, and shoe brands are showing their support of the environment. Here’s a roundup of some eco-friendly products and collaborations:
Havaianas
The flip-flop brand partnered with Conservation International, a nonprofit dedicated to conservation and sustainability, on a collection featuring animal-inspired prints. A portion of the proceeds will go to the organization to help preserve ecosystems.
M4D3 and PETA
Make a Difference Everyday (M4D3) has teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (better known as PETA) for a line of vegan “leather” espadrilles. Set for pre-order in May, a portion of proceeds from sales will support PETA and its animal rights causes.
“Vegan fashion is on the rise as shoppers realize how stylish, kind and eco-friendly animal-free clothing and accessories can be,” PETA EVP Tracy Reiman said in a statement. “M4D3’s unique mix of style and social justice is the perfect match.”
H&M
The retail giant launched its Conscious Exclusive Collection last week, featuring black heels. Olivia Wilde headlines the campaign for all product. “I love the Conscious Collection both for the look and also for its ethics. This is how all fashion should be: great style that’s naturally more sustainable,” said Wilde in a release.
Lacoste
The brand has a limited-edition unisex T-shirt up its sleeve to celebrate Earth Day. The “Water is Life” T-shirt is priced at $65, with a portion of proceeds going to the Everglades National Park restoration. The look can be found at 12 retail doors, including Lacoste’s New York City, Los Angeles and Florida locations.
