Juan Soto just got paid.

After spending one season with the New York Yankees, which included a World Series appearance, multiple reports Sunday night confirmed the 26-year-old baseball superstar has signed a massive deal with the New York Mets. The reported 15-year, $765 million deal is the richest contract in sports history.

Soto’s deal trumps that of Shohei Ohtani, who previously set the mark for the largest in baseball history in December 2023, signing a 10-year, $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. (Ohtani is a New Balance athlete, signing with the brand in January 2023.)

Soto’s career began in 2018 with the Washington Nationals, and he won the World Series with the team in 2019. He then played for the San Diego Padres from 2022-23 before signing with the Yankees in 2024.

Although he’s played for several teams throughout his Major League Baseball (MLB) career, one thing has remained consistent: he’s played in Under Armour cleats.

Under Armour confirmed with FN that its relationship with Soto began in February 2018. Terms of the deal, however, were not shared. In an email to FN, Under Armour stated it does not provide specific details on athlete contracts.

Although terms were not disclosed, Sportico published a report in March on the highest-paid MLB athletes of 2024. The report stated Soto’s total endorsements for the year accounted for $3 million of his total earnings.

Soto was No. 13 on the Sportico list, making him not only the youngest player in the top 15, but one of two players younger than 29. The athlete’s other endorsement partners included Wilson, Sorare, New Era and Topps.

On the field, Soto wears cleats from the Under Armour Yard franchise. The athletic brand has several pairs available now via UA.com, with prices ranging from $90 to $130 for men’s sizes and $65 for boys’ sizes.

For men, pairs include the Yard Mid MT TPU ($130), the Yard Turf 3.0 ($90), the Yard MT 3.0 ($100) and the Yard MT TPU 3.0 ($90). And for boys, Under Armour has the Yard Turf Jr. 3.0 ($65).
