NBA star Draymond Green is one of the league’s best defenders, helping lead the Golden State Warriors on three championship runs. That defensive prowess led Converse to create a special player’s edition of the G4 model for the baller — that will soon arrive at retail.
The G4 model, a reimagining of the brand’s late-1980s style of basketball shoe releases, was originally released by Converse in April 2020. Since then, Converse has released various colorways of the silhouette.
Green’s “Hyper Swarm” PE is dipped in yellow and black colors, with the uppers dressed in yellow and the midsoles executed in black. Finally, the translucent outsoles are detailed with a brown tint, reminiscent of gum outsoles.
The G4’s uppers contain elements from the throwback ERX-260 basketball shoe, which was originally released in 1988. The model also features a Nike Zoom Air unit under the ball of the foot to provide lightweight responsive cushioning, which is paired with Nike React foam in the heel to add impact cushioning and provide traction. Lastly, the model features padded collars to offer achilles support.
The Converse G4 “Hyper Swarm” PE will be available in a limited global release starting May 26 via Converse.com and at select global retailers. It will retail for $110.
