Havaianas Celebrates Upcoming Disney Movie ‘Moana’ With Latest Flip-Flops
Havaianas continues to bring the Disney magic.
The Brazilian brand — named the official flip-flip of Disney’s theme parks last year — just released the first two styles from its latest collaboration with the entertainment giant, this time for “Moana.” Slated to premiere in U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, the animated film follows the adventures of a spirited Polynesian girl who sets sail in search of a fabled land. Among the stars voicing the characters are Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Scherzinger and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho in the title role. The story is accompanied by original songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creative mind beyond the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton.”

In celebration of “Moana,” Havaianas created two kids’ flip-flop looks, featuring colorful character art from the movie printed on the brand’s signature textured footbeds. Both pairs are priced at $20 and are available for purchase now on Havaianas’ U.S. e-commerce site.
Havaianas also is building its partnership with Disney through new retail initiatives. Last month, the brand opened three concept shops in the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks at Walt Disney World in Florida, and at California Adventure in California. Havaianas flip-flops also are available for sale at more than 20 other retail locations throughout Disney’s parks as well as at the Disney Vacation Club.
