In December, Huntington, N.Y.-based retailer Rise partnered with Puma for its AIDS awareness collaboration, New York Is For Lovers, using the brand’s Blaze of Glory silhouette. This month, the retailer and the brand teamed up for a second release inspired by the cause.
The Rise x Puma Lost Ones Blaze of Glory arrives on Saturday and will retail for $145. The limited-edition shoe will be available via Rise’s online store.
“With more than 1.5 million HIV/AIDS-related deaths each year, you can only imagine the number of family members and friends who are left to mourn every loss. Those are the folks I’ve been fortunate enough to connect with and speak to throughout this process. Those amazing people and I share a visceral connection,” said Chase Ceparano, co-owner of Rise, in a statement.
Ceparano lost his father to the disease in 1994, which inspired him to create footwear with brands to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS, part of his plan since opening Rise in 2013.
Lost Ones, an all-black silhouette, features elements similar to the “New York Is For Lovers” collaboration, most notably the perforated-heart heel panel backed by 3M. The shoe also comes with custom lace dubraes that read “Lost Ones” and “NYIFL.”
