Pusha T’s fans clamor for his sneakers with Adidas Originals with the same intensity as his music. And the brand confirmed today that his following would soon have a new pair to pick up.
For the third installment of the rapper’s King Push EQT franchise, Adidas Originals enlisted famed photographer Ari Marcopoulus to craft a minimalistic photo project highlighting him and his new look — the King Push EQT “Grayscale.”
For the black-and-white analog shoot, the rapper is featured in simple attire and his King Push EQT. The brand said the shoot is foreshadowing to the design of the limited-edition “Grayscale” and highlights Pusha T’s personal style with a simplified wardrobe that is his own.
“I wanted to do something simple and authentic but unique. The process of shooting 8×10 photography is analog. What’s great about it is that you become very focused,” Marcopoulus said in a statement. “It’s slow as opposed to smaller cameras where you can take many photos and choose later. [Shooting] 8×10 is very much editing on the spot. It forces the subject and photographer to collaborate and seize the moments that are most essential to the story. It really becomes a collaboration between subject and photographer. It takes concentration from both and that often results into an image unlike any other. It’s a zen-like experience.”
