Christian Louboutin may have been the most in-demand man at fall ’16 New York Fashion Week. Several designers looked to Louboutin to provide the footwear for their runway shows.
At Cushnie et Ochs, models wore classic Louboutin pumps including the Pigalle Follies and the Follies Lace styles.
The punchy color palette of the Novis collection was complemented by Louboutin’s Ottocarl bootie style with fringe detailing. Instead of using the classic black and camel suedes the shoes are usually offered in, they were done in rich jewel tones with contrasting tassels. The show also included the Soustelissimo strappy style and Treliliane block-heel style.
Jenny Packham, whose collection was inspired by ’80s and ’90s Parisian nightlife, included satin sandals in champagne and mahogany hues, as well as a poppy pink. There were also velvet ankle booties.
At Zac Posen, heel heights were brought down to a low wedge in a burgundy hue. Designer Bibhu Mohapatra topped off his collection with a asymmetrical ankle strap style done in calf hair.
And at Naeem Khan, ultra-embellished Louise XI boots turned heads on the runway.
